The system wanted me to shrink. To be quieter, smaller, less curious. But they didn't know what they were creating. They created a founder fueled by isolation, a storyteller with a critical eye, and a brand built on the defiance they tried so hard to erase. My name is Davis, and this is the story of why OBAY DI DREAM exists.

The Genesis of Defiance

I was born in Kingston, Jamaica, into a life of poverty, but also into a rich culture where stories are our legacy. From an early age, I was a questioner. I saw things differently, pushing back against the neat lines and rigid expectations. For this, I was labeled "weird" and "difficult," told to conform to a world that didn't know what to do with a mind that refused to be contained.

When I immigrated to the USA in 2017, I carried that fire with me. But I quickly learned that the pursuit of conformity isn't confined by borders. The system here was just as good at making you feel like you were "too much."

At work, asking "why" put a target on my back. In social circles, asking too many questions meant instant isolation. This wasn't the land of freedom I had envisioned; it was a society that rewards those who fit into its suffocating boxes. And it tried to force me into one, too.

Isolation and the Birth of OBAY DI DREAM

That isolation didn't break me; it forged me. I critically analyzed the forces at play—this twisted game of manufactured conformity.

But in that observation, I found our superpower: our authentic identity is a revolutionary force. The world's "weird" and "difficult" are the pioneers of tomorrow. The voiceless are the ones with the most important stories to tell.

This is why I founded OBAY DI DREAM. It’s a battle cry for everyone who has ever been made to feel like they were "too much." The intentional spelling of OBAY isn't an error; it's a piece of my heritage, a reminder that we write our own rules. We don't obey the system; we OBAY DI DREAM.
